My Current Work

I am committed to justice-oriented practice in my work. I operate from anti-oppressive, anti-racist, anti-colonial, and neurodiversity affirming perspectives in my professional, and personal life. I am passionate about the liberation of marginalized, oppressed people globally.

PhD Candidate

2021 — 

I am a 5th year doctoral candidate at the School of Social Work.

I study the intersections of Blackness and disability. I work to understand how Black neurodivergence has been societally situated as pathology and deviance.

I am also a Course Director, and doctoral research assistant at the School of Social Work, and a doctoral teaching assistant in the Department of Human Rights at York University.

Clinical Social Worker and Therapist

2021 — 

I am a Registered Social Worker in Ontario, Canada. I hold a Masters in Social Work, a BA Honours in Developmental Psychology, and a certification of specialization in Autism and Behavioural Sciences.

I provide counselling, consultation, and clinical supports to children, youth, and young adults primarily those with minoritized backgrounds and identities.

I utilize strengths-based, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, neurodiversity-affirming approaches in my work.

2022 — 

I am a Professor and Educator in the School of Community Services at Seneca College, teaching in the Mental Health, Addictions, and Mental Health Intervention programs.

I am passionate about using critically-focused, student-centered teaching pedagogies that supportively challenge student learning.


Community Service

2022 — 

I am a Board Member and Advisor at Level Justice – a national legal justice education organization.

I sit on the Board for the Black Youth Justice Program, which provides culturally relevant justice education and mentorship for Black youth in Canada.

As possible, I also volunteer for a number of local community agencies and research groups that support equity-focused work.
